1,400 medical records go missing in MiamiJackson Health System in Miami, Florida, has offered more than 1,400 patients free credit protection services after their medical records went missing in January. The documents were either on their way to be scanned electronically or returning from that process when they disappeared.

The Hospital’s Chief Executive Carlos Migoya said that the Hospital would be looking closely at its privacy procedures in order to avoid future breaches. Although Social Security numbers, credit card numbers and financial statements did not make up part of the data, patients whose records were lost have been offered free credit monitoring and up to $20,000 of identity theft insurance.
