After a period of inactivity, banking malware code Dridex has resurfaced – Voldemort-like – to prey on unwary online bank account holders. This time it is using more sophisticated tactics to exploit victims’ fear of having their accounts compromised, ironically by sending them dangerously authentic emails warning them against being hacked.
Despite the FBI’s success in scuppering its last campaign, Dridex appears to be back with a vengeance. The Feds are on the case, but are advising users to treat unfamiliar emails with caution and to make sure their computer systems are well protected.
