Kaiser has suffered a privacy breach at its Anaheim Medical Center. The breach is thought to have affected at least 49,000 of the healthcare company’s patients.
A computer flash drive was reported missed at the hospital on September 25th 2013.
The storage drive did not include social security numbers or any financial information, however, patient’s full names, date of birth and medical records were at risk.
Peggy Hinz, spokeswoman for Kasier Permanente said the company “takes the protection of [our] members’ personal and health information very seriously”.
