Customers of US fast food chain Chipotle have only just shrugged off the effects of E coli, but now it’s their wallets rather than their stomachs that are under attack.
Chipotle, which has 500 outlets across the US, Canada, UK, France and Germany, recently detected that malware had been infecting its cash registers and stealing payment card details. While the company has been quick to alert customers and advise them to monitor their bank statements, it seems to be following the current trend away from offering them credit protection services.
