Hackers have attacked an airline computer belonging to the Polish airline LOT at Warsaw airport, seeing nearly 1,500 passengers grounded as a result. The ground-based system used to issue flight plans was offline for around five hours which caused several flight cancellations and on-going delays.
The attack seemed only to affect flight scheduling for LOT and did not compromise the security of incoming flights to Warsaw’s Chopin airport. There were no other attacks reported across Poland; it was confined to this one airport. An investigation is now under way.
