Instagram has been hacked by a ten year old boy. Jani from Finland found a way of deleting comments made by other users – three years shy of the official age at which users are permitted to join the platform. After notifying the company and reproducing the issue on a specially set up account, Jani was awarded $10,000 for his efforts by Facebook under its ‘bug bounty’ scheme and a fix has already been implemented.
The 10-year-old is the youngest recipient under Facebook’s bug bounty scheme, an increasingly popular method used by companies around the world to identify and plug system vulnerabilities.
