Yelp calls in bug bounty huntersYelp, the online customer review service, is offering hackers up to $15k to pinpoint vulnerabilities in its system. Yelp receives around 140 million unique visitors to its desktop and mobile platforms each month, making it a perfect target for hackers. Particular concerns are that attackers could maliciously tamper with reviews, access users’ payment details or map user profiles to their email addresses.

Yelp is just the latest tech giant to launch a public programme to track down holes in its digital infrastructure before the bad guys move in to exploit them. White Stetsons and gun belts at the ready, folks (get it, white hat?…).
